What’s an unconventional, yet personalized gift for teachers?
I don’t like the idea of gift cards…preferably something homemade that my daughter can personalize herself. They are having a "pajama day" party tomorrow for their last day, watching frosty, eating popcorn and drinking hot chocolate. (They are in preschool) Any great ideas out there?
i went to old navy and picked up some nice travel coffee mugs for his two teachers and two bus monitors i filled them up with candy too. they all seemed to like them. he is in pre-school too. also today when i got him off the bus i noticed the bus driver was using hers.
Gift cards are really the best way to go. I know they seem impersonal, but they really are appreciated by teachers.
If teachers want to decorate their classrooms or buy extra supplies, it usually comes out of their own pocket. A gift card to a teacher supply store would be greatly appreciated by any teacher.
You could get her some fancy chocolates along with a gift card.

I bought my son’s preschool teacher a candle that smells like strawberry pie, it is in a pretty crock. you could do something like that and paint something on it.

GIFT CARD! Trust me, knowing all the teachers I know and having 3 kids, all teachers want are gift cards. I used to try to get a cute personal gift but then realized, these teachers have 20 kids a year, have been doing teaching for 10 years… well, how many mugs/candles/bath soaps does a person need? Unless you actually do know the teacher pesonally, go gift card. Get a small unfinished box from a craft store and have your daughter paint or color it and wrap the gift card in that box. Or have her decorate a flat ornament and wrap the card in a box or gift card case and attach the ornament.

Although you have the best intentions trying to give the teacher a homemade gift, a giftcard really is the way to go. Maybe I don’t speak for all teachers, but the "stuff" kids give us may be cute, eventually it all goes in the trash, because honestly we can’t keep everything forever. Starbucks giftcards and the like are things that all teachers really like getting.

why not do the gift card, but let your daughter decorate the box herself?

my daughter made her teacher a xmas wreath.
paper plate green and red tissue paper scrunched up and glued on, then glitter and a little red bow to hang it from.
we had great fun making it and her teacher hung it on the door.

Can I be honest? I’m a teacher and I love gift cards. I don’t receive a lot of gifts, because I work in a low-income area and parents simply can’t afford them. But, when I do get gifts, I usually get candles or candle holders. I’ve received stuffed animals and little trinkets for my desk.
I appreciate everything, because I realize that it’s the thought (especially since most people don’t have much money). But, I rather receive a $5 gift card to Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks, then a candle or stuffed animal.
My house isn’t very big and either is my classroom. I simply don’t have room for little trinkets and candles. But, I would LOVE if someone bought me a free coffee or even gave me a $5 gift card to Target.
It’s more useful for me.
